Every item on these pages carries its real status. Prototype and Validated exist in the system but are not used until evidence exists.

02Concept platforms

Four machines we think about. None of them built.

The research questions on this page are about real kinds of robot. These are Moonpie concept models of those kinds, engineered in code to one design language so the ideas have a credible shape. Pick one, turn it, and inspect its joints.

A research humanoid concept in ceramic white and graphite, with exposed joint actuators, a smoked-glass sensor band and five-fingered hands. It shifts its weight between planted feet and periodically turns one hand palm-up and closes its fingers in sequence.
Concept platforms · real-time 3DConcept models of the robot classes this research is about, built in code to one design language. None of them has been built. Each robot runs its own demonstration from the same kinematics; play, pause or switch sequences, drag or use the buttons to turn, zoom, and choose a view to inspect its mechanisms.

03Cinematic film

Five sequences, in motion.

A 32-second cinematic cut of the concept fleet: the Companion wakes under a single shaft of light; macro passes over a knee, a wrist, a sensor mast and a hip; one tracking shot with all four moving; the Navigator's lidar detecting and re-planning while the Companion's head follows the camera; and an orbit to the reveal. Same models, same sequences as the showcase above, rendered from one kinematics source — now with depth of field, shutter accumulation, a lacquered stage and a score synthesised from the robots' own motion.

Concept film · 3840 × 2160 master, served at 1080p · sound optionalNo footage, no photographs, no licensed music: the four concept models above, posed by their own sequences, filmed in a virtual studio. The servo, footfall and wheel sounds are synthesised from the same motion data that poses the robots. Research concepts; none of them built.

04Navigation sandbox

Operate a simulated robot.

A differential-drive robot on a 16 × 10 occupancy grid plans a collision-free route with A* and follows it. It runs in your browser.

Simulation mode

No physical robot is connected. The model is idealised: perfect localisation, no sensor noise. It is not evidence of real-world autonomy.

06Neurotechnology roadmap

A staged path, with gates.

Each stage depends on the one before it. Moving between stages requires evidence, ethics review and, where it applies, regulatory approval — none of which is assumed.

Research status

All neurotechnology work is at Stage 1. No experiments involving people have taken place. Nothing here is a medical device.

07Method

How we will work.

  1. 01

    Simulation first

Every behaviour is built and tested in software before any physical experiment is considered.

  2. 02

    Deterministic and tested

The same inputs give the same run, so a failure can be reproduced and studied.

  3. 03

    Human in the loop

A person can pause, stop or override, and plans are approved before they run.

  4. 04

    Honest status

Nothing is described as built until it is built.
